Parks was born on November 30, 1912. Among his numerous accomplishments, Parks directed ”Shaft” and worked as a photographer for Life magazine, Glamour, Vogue, and the US government. He wrote ”The Learning Tree” then brought it to the screen, and was an accomplished musician.
